Edinburg Children’s Hospital is the only hospital in Texas that is a Certified Asthma Center by The Joint Commission.

The Asthma Program at Edinburg Children's Hospital is certified by The Joint Commission for providing safe, high quality care, treatment and services, and is one of the few asthma programs in the United States designated as a Center of Excellence.

Child Life Specialists are experts in child development who promote effective coping through play, preparation, education and self-expression activities. They also play a vital role in educating caregivers, administrators and the general public about the needs of children under stress.

Edinburg Children's Hospital has the ONLY pediatric emergency department in the Rio Grande Valley that provides specialized emergency care just for kids.

The Edinburg Children's Hospital Foundation was formed in 2007 by a dedicated group of citizens who shared a common goal—to support the healthcare needs of children in the Rio Grande Valley. Through fundraising efforts, the foundation provides assistance to medically-challenged children who require additional services to re-enter their homes.
